Recent Real Estate Trends in Central Oregon
The photo above has nothing to do with homes for sale in Bend or real estate in Central Oregon; it’s simply a wonderful winter shot of a levee road along the Sacramento River Delta. It was taken by a friend of mine, Mike Pieretti, and captures his deep love of the area where he grew up and currently lives.
Real Estate Trends in Deschutes County
Following strong home sales figures for both October and November in Bend Oregon, comes more positive data . . . showing that perhaps the market has reached its bottom and is starting to rebound.
According to figures supplied by AmeriTitle, Notices of Default (usually interpreted as being the first step in the foreclosure process) hit a yearly low in November with just (just!) 239. The previous low had been February with 246. This hints to the idea that the worst of the foreclosure crisis is now behind us.
Also of note, were the number of “Recissions of NOD”–a written document that cancels on annuls a Notice of Default. This could indicate a couple of things:
- Notices of Default may be starting to hit more upper echelon homes
- Owners are fighting to keep properties by rectifying the default
